Haaland Scores 300th Career Goal as Man City Thrash Juventus in Club World Cup

Manchester City Crush Juventus 5-2 to Top Club World Cup Group G Unbeaten
Manchester City delivered a commanding performance to seal a perfect record in Group G of the FIFA Club World Cup, thrashing Italian giants Juventus 5-2 in Orlando. The win marks City’s third consecutive group stage victory, reinforcing their status as strong contenders for the title.
Returning to the starting lineup for the first time since September 2024, key midfielder Rodri provided a major boost to Pep Guardiola’s side. The English champions wasted no time asserting dominance, with Jeremy Doku opening the scoring with a brilliant curling finish, set up by summer signing Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Juventus briefly responded, capitalizing on a rare error from City goalkeeper Ederson. A misplaced pass gifted Teun Koopmeiners an easy finish to level the game at 1-1 just 12 minutes in.
However, City’s superiority was clear throughout the match. They reclaimed the lead before half-time after a low cross forced Juve defender Pierre Kalulu to inadvertently turn the ball into his own net, giving City a 2-1 advantage at the break.
The second half saw Manchester City in complete control. Star striker Erling Haaland came off the bench to extend the lead, followed by Phil Foden, who slotted home a composed finish. Brazilian youngster Savinho capped off the dominant display with a spectacular long-range effort that left the Juventus goalkeeper with no chance.
Although Juventus pulled one back through Dusan Vlahovic, the goal proved to be mere consolation. The Italian side was largely outplayed and finishes second in Group G. They will now face the winner of Group H in the next round.
Manchester City, meanwhile, will take on the runner-up from Group H, and based on their current form, they look well-positioned to challenge for the FIFA Club World Cup trophy.
With key players returning and attacking options firing on all cylinders, Pep Guardiola’s men are sending a clear message to the rest of the tournament: City are here to win.
