EOCO Invitation Is a Privilege – Agradaa Claps Back at Hopeson Adorye

Evangelist Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Evangelist Agradaa, is once again at the center of public attention after being spotted at the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). The controversial founder and leader of Heaven Way Chapel made her appearance on June 6, 2025, coinciding with the arrest of New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Chairman Wontumi.

In a video shared on Instagram, Agradaa appeared unfazed by her visit to EOCO, framing the invitation from the anti-corruption agency as a badge of honour. According to her, such summonses are typically reserved for influential and successful individuals.

“It is not an easy thing to be invited by EOCO. If EOCO invites you, it shows you are a wealthy person who has lived a profitable life,” Agradaa said in her social media post. “So make sure you live a good life and pay your taxes. Don’t involve yourself in corruption.”

The evangelist further encouraged her followers to ensure transparency and integrity in their personal and financial dealings.

“Make sure that everything you are doing in your life is genuine. When it comes to your documents, everything should be clean,” she added.

Agradaa Fires Shots at Hopeson Adorye

The viral video did not stop at self-praise. Agradaa also used the opportunity to take a direct swipe at Hopeson Adorye, a known political figure who has openly criticised her in recent weeks. In the video, she questioned Adorye’s credibility and position, asserting that her invitation to EOCO placed her in a higher league.

“Hopeson, your caption about me doesn’t make sense. You were not invited by EOCO even though you received an appointment from Akufo-Addo. I am not your mate. If Chairman Wontumi and I were invited and you weren’t, then it means I am more powerful than you,” Agradaa said.

Legal Battle with Empress Gifty and Hopeson Adorye

The war of words between Agradaa and Adorye has escalated beyond social media. Hopeson Adorye and his wife, gospel singer Empress Gifty, have filed a defamation lawsuit against Agradaa. The couple is seeking GH₵20 million in damages, alleging that Agradaa misused Empress Gifty’s image and trademark while making defamatory comments.

The lawsuit is the latest development in an ongoing feud that has captured national attention and further solidified Agradaa’s reputation as one of Ghana’s most polarizing public figures.

EOCO Presence Raises Questions

While the exact reason for Agradaa’s appearance at EOCO headquarters remains unclear, her public framing of the event as a sign of prestige has raised eyebrows. Critics argue that EOCO investigations should be viewed with seriousness rather than glamorised.

Nonetheless, Agradaa’s statements have sparked widespread debate online, with supporters praising her boldness and detractors accusing her of trivialising corruption investigations.

As the legal and social battles continue, Evangelist Agradaa remains in the spotlight, showing no signs of stepping away from controversy anytime soon.
