COKA Inspires NPP Chairmen with Message of Unity and Reform Ahead of 2028 Elections

NPP Constituency Chairmen Conference 2025: COKA Calls for Unity and Renewal Ahead of 2028 Elections
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a pivotal step toward restructuring and revitalizing its grassroots machinery as the 2025 Conference of the NPP Constituency Chairmen Caucus commenced at the Longford Royal Center in Kumasi. The three-day event, held from June 20 to 22, brought together over 275 constituency chairmen, senior party executives, and dignitaries to strategize ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Under the theme “Building Momentum: The Role of NPP Constituency Chairmen in Uplifting the Party Towards 2028 and Beyond,” the conference focused on party unity, organizational reforms, and electoral preparedness.
Delivering a powerful keynote address, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (popularly known as COKA) inspired delegates with a call for unity, discipline, and ethical leadership. Acknowledging internal challenges and declining public trust post-2024 elections, he urged party members to rise above divisions and work collaboratively for a stronger NPP.
Quoting Psalm 133:1, Chairman COKA emphasized, “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity,” underscoring the importance of solidarity over tribal, religious, and economic differences. He advocated for forgiveness and teamwork as essential values for the party’s political resurgence.
In a bold proposal, COKA suggested a review of the party’s internal qualification criteria. He recommended that only individuals who have served at the polling station or constituency levels be eligible to contest for regional or national executive roles. This, he argued, would ensure that leaders understand and represent the party’s grassroots interests.
Drawing inspiration from figures like Eleanor Roosevelt and Martin Luther King Jr., as well as African proverbs, COKA reinforced the importance of inclusive leadership, transparency, and respectful engagement with opposing views within the party.
The 2025 Chairmen Conference marks a key moment in the NPP’s path to reform and recovery. Delegates left the event motivated, with renewed energy to rebuild the party’s image and strengthen its internal structures ahead of the 2028 elections.
