Asante Kotoko Complete Signing of Versatile Defender Francis Acquah

Asante Kotoko Sign Defender Francis Acquah on Three-Year Deal Ahead of CAF Confederation Cup
Asante Kotoko have officially completed the signing of versatile defender Francis Acquah on a three-year contract, ahead of their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The talented left-back joins the Porcupine Warriors from Bechem United, becoming the club’s latest addition as they strengthen their squad for both domestic and continental challenges.
Speaking to Kotoko’s media team, Acquah cited the club’s rich history and upcoming CAF campaign as major factors in his decision.
“There were other clubs interested, but the stature of Asante Kotoko and the fact that we’ll be competing in the CAF Confederation Cup played a big role in my decision,” he explained.
Acquah added, “I’ve always heard about the passion and support this club receives in continental football, and I’m eager to be part of it for as long as I’m here.”
Known for his composure, intelligence, and defensive versatility, Acquah primarily operates as a left-back but is capable of playing across the backline, offering tactical flexibility to Kotoko’s defence.
He is expected to make his debut in the high-profile President’s Cup clash against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, scheduled for July 6, 2025.
The signing of Francis Acquah is part of Kotoko’s broader strategy to build a competitive squad for their return to African club competition. In addition to Acquah, the club also confirmed the acquisition of midfielder Hubert Gyau from Berekum Chelsea.
With these new additions, Asante Kotoko aim to make a strong impression both in the Ghana Premier League and on the continental stage, as preparations intensify for the new season.
