Ananzo Official Says Davido’s $5,000 Blessing Remains Unused

Ananzo Official Yet to Spend $5,000 Gifted by Davido After Viral TikTok Performance
Ghanaian TikTok star and rising music promoter, Eugene Ananzo Junior, widely known as Ananzo Official, has revealed that he has not yet touched the $5,000 gifted to him by Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Asieduwaa Akumia on Joy Prime, Ananzo expressed deep gratitude to Davido for the generous gesture, which came after a video of him passionately performing Davido’s hit song With You went viral. The video, captured while Ananzo was working at a car wash in Takoradi, quickly gained traction on TikTok, eventually catching Davido’s attention and earning a repost from the multi-award-winning singer.
“I believe God transformed himself into Davido to come and bless me and my team,” Ananzo said, clearly moved by the life-changing moment. He confirmed that although he had received the money through Davido’s team, he has not spent any of it yet.
“I have not touched the $5,000 Davido gave me. It is there,” he said during the interview. When pressed about his plans for the money, he teased, “It will come in the media soon.”
The generous offer from Davido followed Ananzo’s energetic and heartfelt cover of With You, which features Omah Lay. The video, shared in April 2025, resonated with thousands online and prompted Davido to comment, “5K US for you. OLS contact @deekay_dmw,” instructing his team to deliver on the promise.
The moment sparked widespread admiration for Davido’s support of raw, undiscovered talent. In just a few days, Ananzo’s TikTok following surged from 91,000 to over 600,000, and the video has since amassed over 16 million views and 2 million likes, firmly establishing Ananzo as a breakout star in the digital entertainment space.
Ananzo’s journey to fame has been marked by resilience. For more than a decade, he worked at a local washing bay to support his secondary school education, often entertaining customers with spontaneous musical performances. A 2024 video of him dancing to King Paluta’s Makoma laid the groundwork for his eventual rise.
He also credited Nigerian influencer and activist Very Dark Man (VDM) for helping amplify his story on social media. In a heartfelt show of gratitude, Ananzo posted a video where he prostrated in appreciation—an act that touched the hearts of many viewers.
Despite the sudden fame, Ananzo remains grounded. He plans to continue working at the washing bay, embracing his humble beginnings while building a name as one of Africa’s next top music promoters.
“I’m still that boy from the bay,” Ananzo proudly declared. “But now, the world is listening.”
