Board Member Nyaho Tamakloe Assures Fans: Hearts of Oak Will Bounce Back Next Season

Hearts of Oak Board Member Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe Confident of Better 2025/26 Season, Hints at Big Changes
Accra Hearts of Oak board member, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, has expressed optimism about the club’s future following a solid but trophyless 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign. The legendary Ghanaian football administrator reassured fans that while the team managed a top-four finish, more significant progress and improvements are on the horizon.
The Phobians ended the just-concluded season in 4th place, securing 58 points from 34 matches. Although a top-four finish in a highly competitive league is respectable, the lack of silverware remains a point of concern for many supporters of the Accra-based giants.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Dr. Tamakloe praised the team’s effort but emphasized that expectations at Hearts of Oak are always higher. He acknowledged the progress made but made it clear that the club is already planning to raise its performance levels in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
“We were able to make the top four at the end of the season, but we will improve our performance next season,” Dr. Tamakloe assured.
This statement aligns with growing speculation in local sports media that significant changes are expected at the technical level of the club. Reports suggest that head coach Aboubakar Ouattara is likely to depart, following a mixed tenure that failed to deliver a trophy despite some promising performances throughout the campaign.
In what could be a major shift, it is being rumored that former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu may be lined up to take over as head coach. Konadu, a seasoned tactician with a rich background in Ghanaian football, is seen by many as the right man to lead Hearts of Oak into a new era.
Konadu’s potential appointment is expected to bring a blend of discipline, tactical maturity, and a deeper understanding of local football dynamics—qualities the Phobians hope will help break their recent trophy drought and bring back the club’s glory days.
In the same interview, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also emphasized the importance of unity and long-term vision. He stated that the club is undergoing restructuring aimed at sustaining success both on and off the pitch. According to him, building a formidable team requires time, investment, and trust from supporters.
The board member also acknowledged the passionate Hearts of Oak fan base and called for continued support as the club works toward reclaiming its dominance in Ghanaian football.
“We are not satisfied with just finishing in the top four. Hearts of Oak is a club with a rich history. Our goal is always to win trophies and compete at the highest level, both domestically and in Africa,” he noted.
With possible coaching changes, player acquisitions, and renewed boardroom commitment, the 2025/26 season could be a turning point for Accra Hearts of Oak. As the transfer window approaches, fans will be watching closely for signs of the club’s intent to compete seriously on all fronts.
